Wayne always works so hard in the gym, and to a level quite unlike anything I have seen ๐Ÿคฉ

As part of our sessions, we like to set various challenges which test the amount of work we can complete in a set time...

Essentially, how much s**t can we move and how fast can we move it? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Where some fall short, Wayne always pushes through and rises to the occasion ๐ŸŽ‰ We donโ€™t come here to play 

In this particular session, Wayne moved 4670kg in 10x 80 second blocks!! To make it even harder, there are 30 seconds of predetermined exercises to be performed in between. Resting only enough to catch his breath. Just two weeks ago, the total peaked at 2528kg over 10x 90 second rounds, so a huge amount more moved in less time 

So f***ing proud of what you have achieved so far and your work ethic in the gym. It will carry over into other areas of your life and you will continue to kick-butt there too

Weโ€™d only been training together a couple of months before the covid landscape started to take hold and we were first forced to work outdoors, and then online, and then the garage gym. From week to week we couldnโ€™t be sure what was to happen

One thing that remained constant throughout that time however is Garyโ€™s commitment to getting the job done, EACH AND EVERY TIME

His strength has improved, his endurance is incredible, and his waistline is down while he has built some nice lean mass on his chest and legs ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

Why is it important to include these in your warmup?

During the deadlift, you want to create and then maintain as much tension as you can throughout the lift

The more tension you create, essentially the more force you can transfer to the lift

The lift is then both mechanically more efficient and is a more productive use of energy

At my peak a few years back, I could generate enough tension just through my upper body to lift 90kg off the floor before the hips began to extend in the movement! This shows the value of these as an accessory/warm up

1๏ธโƒฃChoose a light weight-you donโ€™t want your delts to be doing all the work. This exercise is to help you develop the external rotators which you can target much better with lighter weights. For example, I am only using 2kg dbs here

2๏ธโƒฃMove through the entire range nice and slowly. We want to connect with the movement and build strength in the right places

3๏ธโƒฃComplete 3 sets of approx 6 reps each

4๏ธโƒฃEnjoy your lifts ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

๐ŸŽฅ Notice the constant tension in the deadlifts in the second video - mind the demonic sounding music in slowmo ๐Ÿ˜‚
